Imperia

Imperia is a coastal city and comune located in the Liguria region of Italy. It serves as the capital of the Province of Imperia and was historically the capital of the Intemelia district within the same region.

The modern city was established on October 21, 1923, by Benito Mussolini. Its creation involved the unification of Porto Maurizio and Oneglia along with several surrounding village communes, including Piani, Caramagna Ligure, Castelvecchio di Santa Maria Maggiore, Borgo Sant'Agata, Costa d'Oneglia, Poggi, Torrazza, Moltedo, and Montegrazie.
