Riofreddo is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Metropolitan City of Rome within the Lazio region of Italy. It is located approximately 45 kilometres (28 miles) northeast of the city of Rome.
The name Riofreddo is derived from the Latin phrase "Rivus frigidus," which translates to "cold river" or "cold stream."
