Orte is a town and comune located in the province of Viterbo within the central Italian region of Lazio. It is situated approximately 60 kilometres north of Rome and about 24 kilometres east of Viterbo.
Historically, Orte served as a former Catholic bishopric and remains a Latin titular see. The municipality is characterized by its geographical position in the heart of the Lazio region.
