Maenza

Maenza is a comune located in the Province of Latina within the Lazio region of Italy. It is situated approximately 70 km southeast of Rome and about 25 km east of the city of Latina.

The municipality is notable for its historic castle, which was originally constructed as a watchtower during the 12th and 13th centuries before being enlarged in the 16th century. To attract new residents to the area, the local government has initiated a program selling abandoned houses for €1, provided that the buyers commit to renovating the properties.
