Grottaferrata

Grottaferrata is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital in Italy. It is situated on the lower slopes of the Alban Hills, approximately 20 kilometres southeast of Rome. The municipality is surrounded by several nearby communes, including Frascati, Rocca di Papa, Marino, and Rome.

The town developed around the Abbey of Santa Maria di Grottaferrata, which was founded in 1004. This historical site serves as a central landmark for the municipality's development.
