Cottanello is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Province of Rieti within the Italian region of Latium. It is located approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Rome and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of the city of Rieti.
The town serves as a local administrative center in its respective province, positioned in the central region of Italy.
