Castel Gandolfo is a small town located in the Lazio region of Italy. Situated on a hilltop within the Alban Hills, it lies approximately 25 kilometers (16 miles) southeast of Rome. The town is colloquially known as Castello in the local Castelli Romani dialects.

The town is recognized as one of Italy's most scenic locations and is designated as one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia. It features panoramic views of Lake Albano and currently has a population of approximately 8,900 residents.
