Torreano is a comune located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. It falls within the regional decentralization entity of Udine and is situated on the border with Slovenia. The municipality is positioned approximately 15 kilometres northeast of Udine and about 60 kilometres northwest of Trieste.
As of December 31, 2004, Torreano encompassed an area of 34.9 square kilometres with a population of 2,301 residents. Demographic data from the 1971 census indicates that 24.5% of the local population are Slovenes.
