Cividale del Friuli is a town and comune located in the province of Udine within the North-Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Situated at an elevation of 135 metres (443 ft) above sea level, it lies in the foothills of the eastern Alps, approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) by rail from the city of Udine and near the Slovenian border.

The town is positioned on the river Natisone, which creates a picturesque ravine in the area. While it was once an important regional power, Cividale del Friuli is currently a quiet, small town known for its medieval center, which serves as a primary attraction for tourists.
