Cervignano del Friuli is a comune located in the province of Udine within the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. It serves as the most significant town in the Bassa Friulana area, situated approximately 12 kilometers from the Laguna di Grado and about 18 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea.
The municipality occupies a strategic geographical position at the junction of two major roads: the SS14, which connects Venice to Trieste, and the SS352, which links Udine to Grado. Additionally, it serves as a key railway terminus where the line from Austria, passing through Tarvisio and Udine, meets the rail link between Venice and Trieste. The town also includes the frazione of Strassoldo, which is recognized as one of the "Borghi più belli d'Italia" (the most beautiful villages in Italy).
