Buttrio is a comune, or municipality, located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. It falls under the regional decentralization entity of Udine and has a population of approximately 3,924 people.
The town is situated roughly 10 kilometres (6 mi) southeast of Udine and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of Trieste.
