Montecchio Emilia is a comune, or municipality, located in the Province of Reggio Emilia within the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It is situated approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Reggio Emilia.
As a local administrative division, it serves as a primary geographical entity in the province, positioned within the northern reaches of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region.
