Gualtieri is a comune located in the province of Reggio Emilia within the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The municipality is situated on the right bank of the Po river, approximately 25 kilometres north of Reggio Emilia and about 70 kilometres northwest of Bologna.
The town is recognized as one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia. Historically, the area has been subject to numerous floods, with the most recent significant occurrence recorded in 1951.
