Collecchio is a town located in the province of Parma within the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 12.9 kilometres (8.0 miles) by road southwest of the center of Parma and is accessible via railway connection.
The area is a significant food-producing region that serves as the home for the multinational Italian dairy and food corporation Parmalat. Additionally, it houses the Centro Sportivo di Collecchio, which is the training complex for the football club Parma F.C.
Historically, the town was known as Sustrina during the Roman period before being renamed Colliculum in Christian times due to its location on a small hill. In 2015, Collecchio became the first community to mandate that all fireworks set off within the town must be silent.
