Busseto is a comune located in the province of Parma within the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It currently has a population of approximately 6,763 inhabitants and is situated about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of Cremona in Lombardy.
The town possesses a well-documented history dating back to the 10th century. For nearly five hundred years, Busseto served as the capital of Stato Pallavicino before eventually becoming part of the Duchy of Parma.
