Vietri sul Mare is a comune located in the province of Salerno within the Campania region of Italy. It is situated just west of the city of Salerno, positioned so closely that it is separated from the Port of Salerno by only a harbor wall.
The town is widely recognized as the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. It is particularly famous for its tradition of polychrome ceramics, a craft that has been practiced in the area since at least the 15th century.
