Salento is a cultural, historical, and geographic region located at the southern end of the Apulia administrative region in southern Italy. Geographically, it is defined as a sub-peninsula of the Italian Peninsula, which is frequently referred to as the "heel" of the Italian "boot."
The region encompasses several specific administrative areas, including the entirety of the Province of Lecce, the majority of the Province of Brindisi, and the southeastern portion of the Province of Taranto.
