Ottaviano

Ottaviano is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Naples within the Campania region of Italy. It is situated in the Vesuvian Area, approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of the city of Naples.

Historically, Ottaviano originated during Roman times as a hamlet of houses. These structures were part of a vast estate owned by the gens Octavia, which was the family of the Roman emperor Augustus.
