Montesarchio is a comune located in the Province of Benevento within the Campania region of Southern Italy. Situated in the Valle Caudina at the foot of Monte Taburno, the city lies approximately 18 kilometres southwest of Benevento.
The municipality was officially granted the status of city (città) by a presidential decree on July 31, 1997. As of 2020, Montesarchio had a population of 13,226 and is recognized as one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia.
