Guardia Lombardi is a small town and comune located in the Province of Avellino in the Campania region of southern Italy. Situated at an elevation of 998 metres (3,274 ft), it is positioned within the Irpinia area of the Apennine Mountains.
The municipality is characterized by its location in a high-seismicity area, specifically classified as zone 1 of the Protezione Civile's seismic classification index. Throughout its history, the town has been significantly impacted and devastated by numerous major earthquakes.
