Capua is a city and comune situated in the province of Caserta within the Campania region of southern Italy. It is geographically positioned on the northeastern edge of the Campanian plain along the Volturno river.
The modern town was established following the destruction of Ancient Capua, which is currently known as Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
