Sersale

Sersale is a comune located in the province of Catanzaro within the Calabria region of Italy. As of 2013, the municipality had an estimated population of 4,701 residents.

The town was founded in 1620 and takes its name from Francesco Sersale, a baron who owned significant land in the area surrounding the current borders of the comune. While the Sersale family originated from Naples, records indicate their presence in the region dating back as far as 1271.
