Motta San Giovanni is a comune, or municipality, located in the Province of Reggio Calabria within the Italian region of Calabria. It is situated approximately 13 km (8.1 mi) southeast of Reggio Calabria and about 130 km (81 mi) southwest of Catanzaro.
In antiquity, the location was known by the Greek toponym Leucopetra.
