Montalto Uffugo is a city and comune located in the province of Cosenza within the Calabria region of southern Italy. Originally known simply as Montalto, the town's name was updated to include Uffugo following the unification period in the 1860s.
The location is notable for its cultural connection to the composer Ruggero Leoncavallo, who spent his childhood there. His famous opera, Pagliacci, features a setting based on Montalto.
