Melito di Porto Salvo is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria within the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Reggio Calabria and about 130 kilometres (81 mi) southwest of Catanzaro. Notably, it holds the distinction of being the southernmost municipality on the Italian Peninsula.
The town occupies a hilly landscape that descends toward the Ionian Sea. It is also identified as part of the Bovesia Greek-speaking area of Calabria.
