Gioiosa Ionica is a town and comune located in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is situated within the province of Reggio Calabria, positioned near the eastern coast of the peninsula.
The municipality covers a total area of 35 square kilometres (14 mi2). It serves as a local administrative center for its surrounding territory in the coastal region.
