Careri is a comune, or municipality, located in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is situated within the Province of Reggio Calabria, positioned approximately 90 kilometres southwest of Catanzaro and about 40 kilometres east of Reggio Calabria.
The municipality covers an area of 38.2 square kilometres and had a recorded population of 2,427 as of December 31, 2004. Careri shares borders with the neighboring municipalities of Benestare, Platì, San Luca, and Santa Cristina d'Aspromonte.
