San Chirico Nuovo is an Arbëreshë town and comune located in the province of Potenza within the southern Italian region of Basilicata. Situated approximately 25 km northeast of the provincial capital, Potenza, the municipality serves as a settlement for the Arbëreshë people.
The town was established by Albanian settlers who received the blessing of the prince of Tolve to settle in the area. In recent years, the population of San Chirico Nuovo has remained between 1,200 and 1,300 residents, reflecting a general trend of demographic decline.
