Maratea

Maratea is a town and comune located in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, within the province of Potenza. It holds the distinction of being the only municipality in the region situated on the Tyrrhenian coast.

The town is frequently referred to as "the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian" and is recognized for its significant religious architecture. Due to the high concentration of chapels and churches within its boundaries, it has been described as "the town with 44 churches." Maratea is also officially designated as one of the Borghi più belli d'Italia (the most beautiful villages in Italy).
