Latronico is a town and comune located in the province of Potenza within the Basilicata region of Southern Italy. It serves as a local administrative center situated in the mountainous interior of the peninsula.
The town is characterized by its high elevation of 888 metres (2,913 ft). Due to this altitude, Latronico maintains a significantly cooler climate than the larger coastal cities nearby, even during the summer months.
