Grassano is a town and comune located in the province of Matera within the southern Italian region of Basilicata. It is situated between the Bradano and Basento rivers at an elevation that ranges from approximately 150 to 576 metres above sea level.
The town proper is positioned about 43 kilometres from Matera and 59 kilometres from Potenza, which serves as the regional capital.
