Poggio Picenze is a comune and town located in the province of L'Aquila within the Abruzzo region of Italy. Situated at an elevation of 760 metres (2,490 ft) above sea level, the small city has a population of approximately 1,000 inhabitants.
The town is positioned along Italy's Highway 17 and sits roughly 12 kilometres (7 mi) from the city of L'Aquila. It overlooks the Aquila basin and is located about 14 kilometres (9 mi) from the Abruzzese Apennines. Poggio Picenze is also a member of the mountain community of Campo Imperatore-Piana Navelli.
