Capitignano is a comune and town situated in the province of L'Aquila within the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is geographically positioned inside the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.
Portions of the municipality's territory extend into the natural reserve of Lake Campotosto as well as the Valle del Tronto area.
