Norðurþing is a municipality located in northern Iceland. It was established as a new administrative region on June 10, 2006.
The municipality was formed through the merger of four previous municipalities: Húsavík, Öxarfjörður, Raufarhöfn, and Kelduneshreppur. This consolidation followed special elections held in January 2006.
