Maragheh is a city located in the Central District of Maragheh County within the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. It serves as the administrative capital for both the county and its central district.
Situated on the banks of the Sufi Chay river, the city is positioned approximately 130 kilometres (81 miles) from Tabriz, which is the largest city in northwestern Iran.
