Kashmar is a city located in the Central District of Kashmar County within the Razavi Khorasan province of Iran. It serves as the administrative capital for both the county and the district. The city is situated near the Shesh Taraz river in the western portion of the province.
Geographically, Kashmar is positioned south of the provincial capital, Mashhad. It lies between Nishapur to the north, Gonabad to the south, Bardaskan to the east, and Torbat-e Heydarieh to the west. Historically, the city was known by the name Torshiz until approximately two centuries ago.
