Gorgan is a city located in the Central District of Gorgan County within the Golestan province of Iran. It serves as the administrative capital for the province, the county, and the district.
The city is situated approximately 400 km (250 mi) northeast of Tehran, the national capital of Iran. It is located roughly 30 km (19 mi) away from the Caspian Sea.
