Qarah Aghaj is a city located in the Central District of Charuymaq County within the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. It serves as the administrative capital for both the county and the district, while also functioning as the administrative center for the Charuymaq-e Markazi Rural District.
Originally established as a village, Qarah Aghaj was officially converted into a city in 1994. It remains a primary administrative hub for the surrounding region in eastern Iran.
