Lahrud is a city located in the Ardabil province of northwestern Iran. It serves as the capital of the Meshgin-e Sharqi District within Meshgin Shahr County and functions as the administrative center for the Lahrud Rural District.
The settlement was originally established as a village before being officially converted into a city in 1997.
