Faryab is a province located in the northern region of Afghanistan. It shares a border with neighboring Turkmenistan to the north and is bounded by the provinces of Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, Ghor, and Badghis.
The capital of Faryab province is Maymana. The province encompasses 15 districts and over 1,000 villages, with a population of approximately 1,109,223 people. This multi-ethnic region is characterized primarily as a tribal society.
