Sorkheh is a city located in the Central District of Sorkheh County within the Semnan province of Iran. The name of the city is frequently interpreted to mean "The Red One."
Serving as the capital of Sorkheh County, the city previously functioned as the capital of the Sorkheh District. This status changed in 2021 when the district was renamed the Central District and its capital was transferred to the village of Lasjerd.
