Ramhormoz is a city located in the Central District of Ramhormoz County within Iran's Khuzestan province. It serves as the administrative capital for both the county and the district.
The area has significant historical roots, having been known in ancient times as Samangan. The city was established by the Sasanian emperor Hormizd I, though archaeological evidence including an Elamite tomb has also been discovered in the vicinity. Additionally, the historical territory of Ramshir is situated nearby, approximately 3 kilometres from the city.
