Chahar Borj is a city located in the Central District of Chaharborj County within the West Azerbaijan province of Iran. It serves as the administrative capital for both the county and the district.
The city is situated 23 kilometres from the south shore of Lake Urmia and approximately 21 kilometres northwest of the city of Miandoab. Historically, the location was known as the village of Chahar Borj-e Qadim and functioned as the capital of Marhemetabad-e Shomali Rural District before the seat of government was moved to the village of Shabanlu.
