Malkajgiri, also known as Mallikarjuna Giri, is a suburb located in the state of Telangana, India. It serves as the headquarters of the Malkajgiri mandal within the Malkajgiri revenue division and is situated in the Medchal–Malkajgiri district.
The area underwent significant administrative changes over several decades. The Malkajgiri Major Grampanchayat was upgraded to a municipality in 1965 before becoming a municipal corporation in 2007. In that same year, it was merged into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Prior to the 2016 district reorganization, the locality was part of the Ranga Reddy district.
