Mahbubnagar is a city located in the Mahbubnagar District of Telangana, India. Formerly known as Rukmammapeta and Palamooru, the city was renamed in honor of Mahboob Ali Khan, who served as the 6th Nizam of Hyderabad.
The city serves as the headquarters for the Mahbubnagar mandal within the Mahbubnagar revenue division. It is the largest city in its district, covering an area of 39.64 km2 (15.31 sq mi), and ranks as the seventh most populous city in the state of Telangana.
