Khammam

Khammam is a city located in the Khammam district of the Indian state of Telangana. It serves as the headquarters for both the Khammam district and the Khammam mandal. Situated approximately 193 kilometres east of the state capital, Hyderabad, the city lies about 61 kilometres from Suryapet, 120 kilometres from Warangal, and roughly 121 kilometres north of Amaravathi, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The river Munneru flows along the western side of the city. According to the 2011 census, the Khammam urban agglomeration had a population of 313,504; however, following its upgrade to a municipal corporation in October 2012, the population was approximated at 307,000. Recent developments between 2014 and 2023 included significant infrastructure changes such as road expansions and the establishment of a Medical College, an Engineering College, and an ITHub.
