Gadwal is a city located in the Indian state of Telangana. It serves as the district headquarters for the Jogulamba Gadwal district and functions as a state assembly constituency.
The city is situated approximately 188 km from Hyderabad, the state capital, and 59 km from Kurnool. Historically, Gadwal served as the capital of Gadwal Samsthanam, which was a vassal of the Nizam of Hyderabad. It was previously part of the Hyderabad State.
