Sahibganj

India

Sahebganj, originally known as Kajrotia, is a scenic town and port city located in the north-east region of Jharkhand, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Sahebganj district, the Sahebganj subdivision, and the namesake town itself. The settlement is situated on the banks of the Ganges River.

The district was established on May 17th, which is celebrated annually as Foundation Day. This date marks the point when the Rajmahal and Pakur subdivisions were carved out of the old Santal Pargana district to form the current Sahebganj district.
