Medininagar, formerly known as Daltonganj, is a city and municipal corporation located in the Palamu district of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Situated on the banks of the North Koel River, it serves as the primary urban center in the north-western part of the state.
The city functions as an important administrative hub, serving as the headquarters for both the Palamu district and the Palamu division. It also acts as the subdivision and block headquarters for the same name.
