Lohardaga is a town located in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It serves as the district headquarters for the Lohardaga district, situated west of the state capital, Ranchi.
Historically, the town functioned as the commissionary headquarters for Chotanagpur before the seat was eventually moved to Ranchi. The commissioner's office remains in existence today and currently houses the Lohardaga Municipality office.
